What happens to data when you use this site

Reaching a person

Questions about privacy, or a request to delete something we hold, go to [email protected]. That address is the only contact channel. We read it and reply when we can. We do not run a phone line, a chat window, or a support desk.

Server logs kept for security

Our servers record standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested. These logs exist to spot abuse, block attacks, and keep the site online. We do not use them to build profiles or to sell anything to anyone.

Storage your browser keeps on your device

The catalog picker saves your filter choices in your browser's localStorage. That data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser storage removes it. No account is created, and there is no login.

California residents and CCPA

We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you are a California resident and want to know what we hold or ask us to delete it, email [email protected].

Children and this site

Telescopesfinder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to [email protected] and we will remove it.

Asking us to delete your data

Send a deletion request to [email protected] with enough detail for us to find the record. We will confirm what we can remove and explain anything we are required to keep, such as security logs tied to an active abuse investigation.

Visit counts

This site loads Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are opened. A short notice on the site explains that. Google’s own policy covers that processing. We do not receive your name from it.
